Latvia's export of goods rises 10.3%, import 13.9% in H1

According to data by the Central Statistics Office, Latvia's exports value in the first half of this year constituted €5.39 billion (an increase of €501.5m or 10.3%), whereas the imports value comprised €6.62 billion (an increase of €810.6m or 13.9%).

In June 2017 Latvian foreign trade turnover amounted to €2.15 billion, which at current prices was 19.2% more than in June 2016, of which the exports and imports values of goods were 12.2% and 25.1% higher, respectively.

Latvia exported goods in the amount of €920.3m, and imported goods in the amount of €1.23 billion. The foreign trade balance became worse, as exports in the total foreign trade value fell to 42.8% (in June 2016 – 45.5%).
