Turnover of retail trade in food products grew by 1.0 %. Retail trade in non-food products (except for retail sale of automotive fuel) increased by 4.1 %, but turnover of retail sale of automotive fuel – by 5.2 %.
Compared to May 2020, the most significant turnover rise was registered in retail sale of electrical household appliances in specialised stores (of 24.8 %), retail sale of information and communication equipment in specialised stores (21.2 %) and retail sale of cultural and recreation goods (17.7 %). Significant turnover decline was registered in retail sale of clothing, footwear and leather goods (of 15.9 %) and retail sale of hardware, instruments, construction materials and sanitary equipment (2.9 %).
Total retail trade turnover at current prices increased by 8.9 % (not taking into account the calendar influence).
Compared to April, the total turnover of retail trade enterprises in May 2021 fell by 3.9 %, according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices. Turnover of retail trade in food products declined by 2.1 %. Retail trade in non-food products (except for retail sale of automotive fuel) reduced by 6.4 %, but turnover of retail sale of automotive fuel – by 1.1 %.
Compared to April, in May 2021 the total retail trade turnover at current prices (not taking into account seasonality) increased by 1.9 %.
