As of November 1 this year, Rīgas siltums customers have to pay EUR 66.76 per megawatt-hour (MWh) for thermal energy, but from March 1 of the following year this cost will be EUR 71.22.
According to “Rīgas siltums”, the tariff changes are linked to the rapid increase in energy prices and the end of the state aid for the “Imanta” thermal center.
During this heating season, the Rīga heat tariff has grown twice. On September 1, it increased by 26.6%, compared to the previous charge, and again by 16.5% on November 1.
As a whole, the tariff increased by 47.5% this autumn, or by EUR 21.49.
