University scoops export prize

Riga Stradins University has won the title of the Leading Exporter in the Economy Ministry and the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia's annual "Export and Innovation Award 2015" competition.

The University has become a center of education and research for students from around the world, as its impressive website points out.

 The winners in other categories were companies Livonia Print, D Dupleks, Milzu!, SAF Tehnika and Velo Sock.

Livonia Print was named the winner in the Best Exporter in the large and medium partnership group.

The best exporter in a small partnership group was D Dupleks, while in the Import Substitute Product category, breakfast cereals by the company Milzu won the main prize.

SAF Tehnika's microwave spectrum analyzer Spectrum Compact won the Innovative Product award, and in the Industrial Design category was the company Velo Sock with its indoor bicycle covers narrowly beat the transformable bike for children Leg&Go produced by the company Shaman Inventions.

The Investment and Development Agency and the Economy Ministry organize the "Export and Innovation Awards" on an annual basis, celebrating the leading exporters and most innovative companies in Latvia.

The competition was organized for the 11th time this year, 105 companies from all over Latvia participated in the competition.
