According to data released Monday by the Central Statistical Bureau, in the 2nd quarter of 2016 Latvia's average gross wages were €838. Wages and salaries grew 3.3% on year in Q2, recording an annual increase of 2.6% less than in the 1st quarter.
Yearly changes
Q2 wages grew 3.2% in the public sector and 3.3% in the private sector on year. The average wage grew by 3.3% or €27.
The average net wage in Q2 was €616, recording an increase of 2.9% on year, but as consumer prices decreased 0.7%, there was a 3.6% increase in real net wages and salaries.
Quarterly changes
Wages increased in Q2 by 0.7%, with wages decreasing 1.7% in the private sector and growing 5.2% in the public sector.
