More than 10,000 Ukrainian civilians have entered the Latvian labor market, Evita Simsone, director of the State Employment Agency (NVA), told the Latvian Television broadcast Rīta panorāma on January 23.

More than 17,000 Ukrainian civilians have received the first-time employment support. These people have received consultations on opportunities in the Latvian labor market, support from the NVA, and also language training.

Currently, slightly more than 4,000 Ukrainian civilians have been registered in the NVA as unemployed.

On the other hand, more than 10,000 Ukrainians have received one-off benefits for starting work. “This shows that more than 10,000 Ukrainian civilians are on the Latvian labor market and are employed in Latvia,” Simsone said.
