Latvia's unemployment rate slightly down in June

Results of the Labour Force Survey published July 20 by the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia (CSB) show that in June 2022 actual unemployment rate in Latvia constituted 6.3 % and compared to May it has reduced by 0.2 percentage points.

Unemployment rate among females fell by 0.1 percentage points (down to 5.4 %) and among males by 0.3 percentage points (reaching 7.2 %).

The unemployment rate registered with the State Employment Agency (SEA) accounted for 5.9 %, and since May it has dropped by 0.2 percentage points. Compared to the June of the year before, both the actual and the registered unemployment rate has gone down by 1.5 percentage points.

In June 2022, in Latvia there were 59.7 thousand unemployed persons (25.5 thousand females and 34.2 thousand males), which is 1.5 thousand fewer than in May and 13.3 thousand fewer than in the corresponding period a year ago. Over the month the number of unemployed men reduced by 1.2 thousand and of unemployed women by 0.3 thousand.
