Rail Baltica to bring more traffic changes in central Rīga

Due to the construction of the Rail Baltica railway bridge over the Daugava, long-term traffic changes will be introduced in central Rīga starting Monday, February 5.

Traffic changes will affect the Daugava embankment on Ģenerāļa Radziņa Krastmala. Traffic will be limited in the left lane of the street in both directions. This means that two lanes will be open in each direction.

Drivers should expect that during night hours, the street may be temporarily closed or certain additional lanes may be closed. The construction works of the bridge will be carried out by the rail Baltica building company “BERERIX”.

The local government said changes to the movement of pedestrians could also be introduced on the promenade.

Changes will be in effect for a long time, therefore residents and city guests are invited to plan routes in good time, consider additional travel time as far as possible, and observe traffic procedures during construction work.
