Free public transport on May 4 in Rīga

On the day of the restoration of Latvia's independence, May 4, public transport will be free in the capital city, said municipal transport company Rīgas Satiksme.

On Thursday, May 4, public transport will run according to weekend/holiday timetable and will be free. On May 5, it will also run according to holiday schedule but tickets must be bought and registered.

Parking lots managed by Rīgas Satiksme will also be free on May 4, except the underground parking at Krišjāņa Valdemāra Street 5a.

All customer centers of Rīgas Satiksme will be closed on May 4, the company said.

As reported earlier by LSM, Rīga has announced an events program for the holiday. The annual May 4 film marathon will also be in place.
