Take note – story published 1 year and 5 months ago

As every year, on May 4, the day of the restoration of Latvia's independence, the National Film Center (NKC) is holding a film marathon both online and onsite, NKC said April 18.

This year, film screenings will take place at the cinema Splendid Palace, as well as in other districts of Rīga and online on NKC's portal filmas.lv.

At Splendid Palace, screenings will begin at 13:00, with films in both the big and small auditorium, and an open-air screening later in the evening.

In other Rīga neighborhoods – Iļģuciems, Imanta, Ziemeļblāzma, and Mežaparks – the animation Lielais Indriķis and feature film Māsas will be screened.

Meanwhile, the online film marathon on filmas.lv will be available worldwide and include a program dedicated to the legendary Latvian poet and writer Imants Ziedonis (1933–2013).

More detailed information will be released by NKC next week.
