Traffic around Sigulda restricted Saturday

On Saturday, October 5, starting from 10:00 in Sigulda and Cēsis municipalities, traffic on several roads will be periodically restricted during cycling events between Sigulda and Raiskums,  said State LLC "Latvijas Valsts ceļi/Latvian State Roads" (LVC).

LVC said that during the cycling event estrictions are expected on local roads, as well as on the regional road Inciems-Sigulda-Ķegums (P8) near Turaida and Inciems. Traffic will be regulated by the State Police and municipal police.

Additional travel time must also be planned on many of the 52 road construction sections around the country.

The most extensive traffic restrictions are on the regional road Svente-Lithuanian border (Subate) (P70) between Svente and Ilūkste,  where there are six temporary traffic lights and the crossing will take 45 minutes.

Major traffic restrictions on main national roads:

  • Vidzeme motorway (A2) from the turn-off to Cesis (P20) to Ridzene, two traffic lights and a local detour, speed limits 70 and 50 km/h. Estimated crossing time 25 minutes;
  • Ventspils motorway (A10) from the turn to Ugāle mill (V1323) to Ūdensvada road speed limits 70 and 50 km/h. Estimated crossing time 30 minutes.
