The group plans to create the largest fast-charging network for electric cars, Ignitis ON, and connect the Baltics into a single electric vehicle charging backbone.
The Ignitis Group's investment plan envisages the establishment of the Ignitis ON electric car charging network by the end of 2025, with up to 200 fast charging stations with 550 connection points, and by the end of 2026, the number of fast charging stations will be increased to over 1,000, thus creating the most comprehensive electric car charging network in Latvia. 85% of charging stations are expected to exceed 300kW.

The basic layout of Ignitis ON's network of electric car charging stations is planned to be on the A1-A6 motorways every 10 kilometers on average and on the A7-A21 motorways with an average distance of 20-31 kilometers, with larger Ignitis ON charging centers with 10 connection points and a total capacity of more than 600kW in some locations.
Fast charging stations will also be planned every 40 kilometers on regional and local roads. Larger charging centers with at least 10 fast charging points with a total capacity of 800kW or more are planned in metropolitan districts, the company said.
