Rīga-Dubai flights to be launched by 'flydubai'

The United Arab Emirates airline “flydubai” will start work at Riga Airport on October 11 this year and will offer travelers direct flights between Riga and Dubai three times a week, Riga Airport representatives told LETA.

The airport says flydubai announced plans to start flights from Dubai to Riga, Basel, Tallinn, and Vilnius this year on Thursday, February 15.

The flight between Riga and Dubai will take about six hours and 40 minutes, according to the flydubai website.

Riga Airport served a total of 6.63 million passengers last year, which is 23% more than in 2022, but 15% less than in 2019 before the Covid-19 pandemic.

Riga airport worked with 54.512 million euro turnover in the nine months of 2023, which is 30.8% more than in the same period a year ago, while the company's profit rose 72% - to 5.268 million euro.
