In April this year, Vivi carried 1.479 million passengers, which is 9% or 121,888 passengers more than in April 2023.
In April, 90% or 1.327 million passengers were carried by electric trains, while 10% or 150,488 passengers were carried by diesel trains. Most passengers were carried on the Tukums, Aizkraukle, and Jelgava railway lines.
PV notes that in the first four months of the year, just over 50% of passengers purchased tickets electronically, which is three percentage points more than in the same period last year.
Train punctuality, or the indicator of how many trains are on schedule, was in the 98% range in April 2024.
According to Vivi, 22 new electric trains are currently available for passenger services, while the remaining ten electric trains are to be delivered to the manufacturer Škoda Vagonka by the end of July this year.
