Rīgas Satiksme launches 'energy-charged' visual identity

The municipal public transport company Rīgas Satiksme is celebrating its 21st anniversary with a new visual identity, the company said.

In recent years, the company has evolved through both the introduction of new technological solutions and the expansion of its fleet of environmentally friendly vehicles, said the company. Now the visual brand changes, too.

The launch of the new brand will take place gradually, in about two years, with no additional funds being spent. Initially, the new brand will be embedded in electronic documents. On public transport, as well as other printed materials, the new logo will be replaced when the previous one is worn out.

The previous logo was created in 2003, thus, more than 20 years have passed since its introduction, and the "logo has become obsolete", said the company.

Džineta Innusa, Chair of Rīgas Satiksme Board, said: “The company has changed significantly in recent years. [..] There has been a shift in understanding the importance of public transport for the city's movement and connections. The bus, trolley bus, and tram are gradually becoming much more than just a simple mobility solution. By making real-time transport traffic data, digital transport tickets, and the possibility of using a simple and understandable fare system on the route network available to passengers, we have been working hard to make public transport more attractive and predictable. Dynamics in thinking, new solutions, and the need to continuously evolve and change are also included in the new brand, which is charged with movement, energy, and humanity. ”
