Rīga tram route no. 11 returns on Tuesday

As of Tuesday, June 20, the tram route no. 11 (Center–Mežaparks) will return to Rīga's streets after a year. On Monday, the low-floor tram pilot run took place across the repaired Brasa Bridge, reported the municipal public transport company Rīgas Satiksme.

After the technical test run on Monday, Brasa Bridge has been recognized as safe for the renewal of traffic, Riga City Council said.

The Transport Department of the Riga City Council has adopted an act on the organization/renewal of tram traffic, in which the transmission built on the side of Duntes Street has been recognized as valid for the launch of reversive traffic.

Riga Vice Mayor Vilnis Ķirsis (New Unity” said that “in February, when concrete pouring was started, it was very challenging, many didn't believe [that the tram would be restored] in time for the Song Festival”.
