Central bus stop moved due to Rail Baltica construction

Traffic changes have affected the public transport movement on Gogoļa Street. The public transport stop of the Central Market is now moved about 50 meters away to the Academy of Sciences.

The stop is currently on the corner of Gogoļa and Turgeņeva Street. Such arrangements are scheduled until September 15.

Changes have been made due to the construction of the infrastructure related to Rail Baltica.

“This year or this summer, the jobs that are taking place in Riga are, in my opinion, the largest ever, so that the inconvenience or burdens caused by the traffic organization are, of course, felt in all places,” said Mārtiņš Slimbahs, head of the Riga City Council's Public Infrastructure Development Board. “If we go to the center, we see this burden in many places.”

The Central Market stop is one of the busiest throughout Riga. When the Rail Baltica rail transmission on Gogoļa Street is completed, the stop will be moved under the transmission.
