With the reconstruction of tracks and stops completed, the tram no. 5 will return to its base route next week, according to the municipal company Rīgas Satiksme.
The tram no. 5 from Iļģuciems to Mīlgrāvis will run 114 times per day on working days and 68 times on weekends.
Some stops have also been shifted around, with Dārza iela, Eiženijas iela, Slokas iela, and Lilijas/Bēnes iela stops no longer existing and new ones – Pulka sēta, Saldus iela, Buļļu iela – installed in the midpoints of the old stops.
For now, the old trams will still service the route. When construction works are finished on Slokas Street, low-floor trams will run on the route 5.
