airBaltic and Lufthansa to launch codeshare flights

The German airline Lufthansa and Latvian national airline airBaltic are starting codeshare cooperation, according to a release by airBaltic February 16.

It is planned that as of March 28, Lufthansa will put its flight codes on routes operated by airBaltic between Munich and Rīga, as well as Munich and Vilnius.

Martins Gauss, President and CEO of airBaltic, was quoted: "Lufthansa is a strong connectivity provider globally, and we are pleased to strengthen our partnership and the air traffic ties between the Baltics, Germany and beyond."

Lufthansa Group's head of airline partnerships Heiko Heidusch was quoted saying that airBaltic was a "very reliable partner" and that the cooperation will create more possibilities to travel to the Baltic States via Munich.
