In February this year, the Latvian national airline airBaltic transported 23,530 passengers, 92% less than in February last year, airBaltic said in a release March 9.

The company has conducted 480 flights in February this year, 88% or 4,140 flights less than in February 2020.

"We have hit the lowest passenger traffic rates since resuming scheduled flights last May. We continue to provide important connectivity for passengers who have to travel to and from the Baltic. [Covid-19] vaccination is becoming more and more accessible, we expect passenger volumes to rise again soon," said Martins Gauss, CEO of the company.

In 2020, the Latvian airline airBaltic transported 1.34 million passengers, or 73% less than a year ago. In 2020, the airline carried out 22,300 flights from all three Baltic States.
