The Latvian airline airBaltic will stop flights from Riga to Liepāja from October 2 to 24, according to a company report September 16.

The airline explained that travel restrictions have had a significant impact on airBaltic's operations and that the continuation of flights to Liepāja is not possible at the moment, because the demand for these flights is very low.

“Despite this, I am convinced that this route will soon be returned to our network,”  said airBaltic CEO Martins Gauss in a statement to the media.

airBaltic continues to provide flights on more than 50 routes in Europe. Rīga-Liepāja is the only domestic flight in Latvia.
