LP said that the tariff changes were affected by a number of factors related to both the rise in transport and logistics costs, the increase in energy resources costs, the decrease in traditional domestic mail, the increase in the cost of delivery of shipments due to Britain's withdrawal from the European Union (EU) and the new arrangements for third countries as of July 1 2021.
Shipments with a higher weight will become cheaper from next year, but lighter shipments, the delivery of which ultimately costs more, are more expensive.
For example, sending a simple Class A domestic parcel in weight from 501 to 1000 grams would cost €2.22 instead of €2.48, while in cross-border shipments, a simple Class A parcel in weight from 501 to 1000 grams will only cost €7.91 instead of €9.53. On the other hand, a simple inland Class A letter of up to 20 grams will cost €1.20 instead of €1.00.
Cross-border correspondence rates will be categorized into 14 groups of countries and territories instead of the four groups to date, while cross-border parcel shipments will be categorized into eight groups of countries and territories instead of the five groups to date.
