Lufthansa cancels Tuesday flights between Rīga and Frankfurt

German carrier Lufthansa has cancelled all its flights on the Rīga-Frankfurt route scheduled for this Tuesday (January 15) as security staff at Frankfurt airport are going on a one-day strike Tuesday, Laura Karnite, a spokeswoman for Rīga International Airport, told LETA.

According to the airport’s information, all Lufthansa flights will be cancelled on Tuesday, January 15.

Passengers are asked to make their inquiries to the airline, Karine said.

Security staff at Germany’s largest airport are going on strike this Tuesday demanding a salary hike, the Ver.di trade union informed.

The strike will last from 2 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time (from 3 a.m. to 9 p.m. Latvian time).
