Repatriation flight for Latvian nationals from the UK planned December 28

Take note – story published 3 years ago

For Latvian nationals, a repatriation flight from Great Britain will take place on December 28 at 17:30 UK time, Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs said on his Facebook profile December 23.

Returnees will have a mandatory COVID-19 test and 10-day self-isolation in a state-appointed and paid-for hotel.

Tickets for the repatriation flight will be available to those on the embassy list on the basis of social, legal and humanitarian grounds (end of legal stay in the UK, temporary status, end of study period, etc.).

Those who want to come to Latvia to simply visit relatives will have to do it on another occasion, the Minister said.

Details will soon follow the home page of the Latvian Embassy in London, the minister said.

News of the spread of the new strain of coronavirus in the UK led many countries, including Latvia, to decide to stop traffic with the UK.
