Rīga Airport figures in October show continuous upward trend

According to the data published on November 23 by the Central Statistical Bureau, in October 2022 passenger turnover at Riga International Airport comprised 552.5 thousand passengers, which is 1.6 times more than in October 2021 and 3.4 % more than in the previous month.

Compared to October 2019, the number of passengers at the airport was 21.6 % smaller.

The total number of flights in October was 5 107, which is 7.1 % more than a year ago.

In ten months of this year, the number of passengers at the airport comprised 4.49 million passengers, which is 2.71 million or 2.5 times more than in the corresponding period of 2021 and 2.4 times more than in the ten months of 2020. However, that is 32.7 % less than in the corresponding period of 2019.

In October 2022 the total volume of cargo and mail loaded and unloaded1 comprised 1.7 thousand tonnes, which is 7.5 % more than in September, but 30.9 % less than in October 2021.

In October 0.7 thousand tonnes of cargo and mail were unloaded, which is 53.5 % less than in October 2021, but 1 thousand tonnes of cargo and mail were loaded, which is 6.8 % more.
