On May 6, construction works on roadway P133 near Riga International Airport at the junction of Ziemeļu and Dzirnieku streets are resumed.

The crossing has been set a speed limit of 50 and 30 km/h, said Latvian State Roads (LVC).

The roadworks aim to improve traffic security at the crossing: an additional lane will be made on Dzirnieku Street and on the airport roadway in the direction towards Riga.

The works are carried out by Binders, Ltd. at a contract price of €366 500 (VAT included). Of these, EUR 200 000 comes from the state budget, EUR 116 000 from the Mārupe Municipality, and EUR 51 000 from the Riga Airport.

The construction works are planned to continue until July.
