AS Tallink Grupp has currently decided to re-open the route Riga – Stockholm in the spring of 2022, Tallink said in a release June 16.

It is planned that the ship Romantika will sail between the capitals of Latvia and Sweden every other day. Traffic on the regular route Riga – Stockholm will not be resumed this year.

The company also decided to re-open the popular Tallinn-Stockholm ferry route on 9 July 2021, after nearly 16 months of suspension of the route due to travel restrictions between Estonia and Sweden. The route will initially be operated with one vessel, Baltic Queen, with departures from Tallinn and Stockholm every other day.

Tallink Grupp’s CEO Paavo Nõgene was quoted:

"As we slowly start coming out of the restrictions and will see how the pandemic situation develops in the coming months, we are re-starting the operations gradually, initially offering departures from Tallinn and Stockholm every other day with one vessel on the route. [..] For the last few months we have received questions from our customers almost daily, asking us on both sides when will they be able to sail to Stockholm or Tallinn again. I am pleased to say this time has now arrived and you are all most welcome on board Baltic Queen.

"In addition to that sales for trips on Riga – Stockholm route have been opened as of today.  The ship Romantika could resume traffic between the capitals of Latvia and Sweden every other day from the April 1, 2022."

Ticket sales for the Tallinn-Stockholm and Riga-Stockholm route are available on Tallink webpage.
