"Wall of the future" shows shape of things to come at Rīga Airport

Take note – story published 1 year ago

A so-called "Wall of the future" has been revealed at Rīga Aiport which shows promised future developments at the important regional transport hub.

A video of the unveiling ceremony shows numerous people at a microphone, followed by some shiny dancers who then energetically tear asunder the veil to reveal infrastructure development plans on a wall, to much applause from the former speakers.

"Rail Baltica will create a modern and multifunctional passenger service complex at the airport "Riga", which will be connected to the airport infrastructure and will offer new mobility opportunities and amenities for passengers. The creation of infrastructure will also provide an opportunity to expand cargo handling services, laying a strong foundation for attracting new investment and developing the region," said publicity material.

Unfortunately the wonder wall is not in a part of the airport accessile to all, so will only be seen by people on their way to flights between departure sectors B and C.

Riga Airport's medium-term strategy is available to read – perhaps to while away the hours once you board your flight – at https://www.riga-airport.com/about-rix/strategy/en.
