70 members voted in favor of Sikšnis as a member of SEPLP, but one member of parliament voted against.
In turn, 74 deputies voted for the appointment of Eglītis, but one parliamentarian also voted against.
There were 77 deputies in favor of approving Upleja-Jegerman, and one member of parliament against.
The chairman of the responsible Saeima Commission for Human Rights and Public Affairs, Artuss Kaimiņš (not currently affiliated with any political party), noted that a great deal of work awaits all three.
The three-person council consists of one member nominated by the Saeima (Eglītis), one by the State President (Upleja-Jegermane) and another by non-governmental organizations in consultation with the Cabinet of Ministers (Siksnis).
The Saeima also supported changes in the law which envisage a significant increase in the current salaries of members of the SEPLP and the general national media regulatory body, the National Electronic Mass Media Council (NEPLP).
