WATCH: Rīga Security Forum discussion 'Turkey vs. Ukraine – Who is more important to the EU?'

The fifth in a new season of geopolitical discussions under the 'Rīga Security Forum' banner was published online November 28.

Organized by the Latvian Institute of International Affairs (LIIA), this week the title under discussion is provocatively titled: 'Turkey vs. Ukraine – Who is more important to the EU?' and explores the strategic significance of both Turkey and Ukraine in the context of the EU and the geopolitical implications of both countries.

Discussants are Dr. Toni Alaranta, Senior Research Fellow at the Finnish Institute of International Affairs, and Justyna Gotkowska, Deputy Director Centre for Eastern Studies (OSW), with expert moderation by Uģis Lībietis, Associate Researcher at the Latvian Institute of International Affairs and a distinguished broadcaster in his own right.

The project is the result of a successful cooperation between the Latvian Institute of International Affairs, the NATO Public Diplomacy Division, Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Baltic States, the Embassies of the United States, Poland, Canada, Spain as well as international provider of defence, security and aviation life cycle support services and technology solutions “Patria”, Riga Graduate School of Law and 5G Techritory forum.

The discussions will take place every week until the end of the year and all will be available to watch here on LSM in both English and Latvian every Tuesday.
