Currently, euthanasia is only allowed in four European Union countries: Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and, since March this year, Spain. In her latest Brussels conversation, LTV correspondent Ilze Nagla talks to two more MEPs about euthanasia in the EU.
This time around the politicians are Latvia's Ivars Ījabs of the Renew Europe group and Belgium's Assita Kanko of the European Conservatives and Reformists Group.
The Brussels discussions in English are bolstered by local Latvian-language debates on related issues. You can see the list of topics that will be covered at the dedicated Būris web page on LSM. These include animal welfare, multiculturalism, hate speech, and other controversial themes.
Discussions are available to watch on the LTV player and as Spotify podcasts. The Būris project is co-financed by the European Union.
