Būris: What can young people expect when entering politics?

Take note – story published 2 years ago

The ranks of those serving in the European Parliament include a large number of younger politicians, with some even having 'MEP' as the first item on their CV.

In the latest 'Būris' (Cage) debate from Brussels, LTV's Ilze Nagla asks what motivates younger people to enter the political arena, what obstacles they face and what they can realistically expect to achieve. She is joined by MEPs Jaak Madison (Identity and Democracy Group) from Estonia and Niklas Nienass (Group of the Greens/European Free Alliance) from Germany.

The Brussels discussions in English are bolstered by local Latvian-language debates on related issues. You can see the list of topics that will be covered at the dedicated Būris web page on LSM. These include animal welfare, multiculturalism, euthanasia, and other controversial themes.

The Būris project is co-financed by the European Union.
