Titled Skaistai būt ("To be Beautiful") it explores issues of beauty and acceptance in a culture increasingly saturated with idealised and unattainable ideals of femininity.
It is a story about the world of young girls in today's Latvia, based on conversations about girls' attitudes towards theworld and their place in it.
The film is a slice of the daily lives of girls and young women, constantly influenced by social media and documented by smartphone. The characters in the film reveal the various influences and relationships that make both give them confidence and take it away.
