Health hacks the Irregular Latvian way

Take note – story published 3 years ago

Our favorite YouTuber, Anete Germane a.k.a the Irregular Latvian is back with another video and this time she has your well-being in mind.

In just 10 minutes Anete takes us on a whirlwind tour of Latvian folk medicine based on the four crucial principles of eating, drinking, warming and, er, rubbing.

The consumption of vast quantities of garlic features prominently, with other root vegetables also employed to good effect, often in combination with honey. Failing that, you can put them in your socks.

Drinks, including hot, diluted vodka, are among other suggested remedies, with Dr. Anete commenting by way of recommendation: "Sounds disgusting, is disgusting, but people say it's also very effective".

If all else fails, smear yourself with pig fat and recite some magic spells.

Legal disclaimer: we make no claim as to the medical efficacy or otherwise of any of these ideas. If you have health issues you are better off consulting a qualified medical practitioner than YouTube. So if you start growing hair in strange places or change color, don't blame us.
