"The coronavirus pandemic and the war in Ukraine have had a significant effect on all our lives. Crises have traditionally pushed Europe to find new instruments and forge common policies. For now, as we can witness, the war in Ukraine has fostered historical decisions and strong solidarity between the member states. This year, "Baltic EU Conversations 2022" will deal with several topics, investigating the state of the economy of the European Union; discussing the political landscape of the European Union in the new geopolitical environment, discussing how the climate ambitions of the European Green Deal can be aligned with the imperative to enhance energy security. At the same time, experts will discuss how to make a digital Europe safer from cyber warfare and, as the Ukraine's aspirations for EU membership have acquired a dramatic turn, we will investigate the possibilities for the EU to address these membership and alliance wishes," say organizers.
