These films reflect the extraordinary lives of people in Latvia and each year serve as a blueprint of the state of affairs in the private lives and aspirations of today's Latvian residents.
This year's first film to be featured, titled Therapy, chronicles the troubled relationship between Mārtiņš and his mother, just as he is about to tear down his childhood home.
"The past has a special role in this movie, as a great part of it comes from Mārtiņš' video archives spanning from his childhood to the current day. This way the director has succeeded in showing the complexities of the relationship between mother and son from its very start," wrote film critic Elīna Sēmane.
