Take note – story published 2 years ago

On March 9, Mathias Cormann, Secretary General of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), is in Latvia to present the OECD's latest Economic Report on the country and deliver recommendations for further development.

In line with OECD practice, such reports are published every two years for OECD member countries.

The presentation of the OECD Economic Review on Latvia will take place in two parts, and will be available to watch online (see below).

In the first part, from 10:30 to 11:15 , the Secretary General of the OECD and Minister of Economics Jānis Vitenbergs will introduce the report.

In the second part, from 11:30 to 13:00, OECD experts and Latvian representatives will discuss the main conclusions and recommendations of the Economic Review to promote further growth of the Latvian economy, paying special attention to export promotion, which is the main research topic of the new OECD Economic Review.

The economic report on Latvia will also be published on the OECD website.

The expert discussion can also be seen online on the Ministry of Economy's Youtube channel and Facebook account.

Cormann will also be having various bilateral meetings while in Latvia. On March 8 the OECD Council decided to immediately suspend the participation of Russia and Belarus in OECD bodies. OECD Members also tasked the Secretary General to develop proposals to further strengthen support to the democratically elected government of Ukraine, including to support recovery and reconstruction.

Working with over 100 countries, the OECD is a global policy forum that promotes policies to preserve individual liberty and improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world.
