Baltic states issue joint statement on G7 support for Ukraine

Baltic states Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania issued a joint statement August 17 reaffirming their joint support for Ukraine, including in the context of the G7 Declaration of Support for Ukraine.

The three Baltic prime ministers all confirmed their signatures of support – in the case of Latvia's Krišjānis Kariņš, shortly before he is due to hand in his resignation on Thursday.

The move comes one day before the three prime ministers are due to meet in Tallinn, Estonia. In Thursday's joint statement, the Baltic trio promise to "keep supporting Ukraine until victory" and that "only NATO membership" will provide Ukraine with the security guarantees it needs in future.

The G7 declaration was released in July and its full text is available here.
