UAE officials visiting Latvia

On May 22, the Minister of State to the United Arab Emirates Cabinet at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh is in Latvia on a working visit.

The Minister of State is accompanied by the Minister of State for Foreign Trade at the Ministry of Economics of the United Arab Emirates, Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Investment, Mohammed Abdul Rahman Al Hawi.

The delegation will have meetings with the President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, the Prime Minister Evika Siliņa, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Baiba Braže, and the Director of the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence (STRATCOM), Jānis Sārts. The delegation will also visit Riga Technical University to meet the representatives of academia and the private sector, including start-ups, but no press conferences are listed on the agenda. There are several photo opps, though.

The Latvian and UAE officials intend to discuss current bilateral relations, including Latvia’s export promotion potential, security issues, cooperation in the academic and innovation sector, as well as other topics on the international agenda, according to information from the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Braže will participate in the ceremonial opening of the UAE Embassy in Rīga.
