Baltic and German Foreign Ministers to meet in Rīga this week

April 20 will see Rīga hosting another important piece of international diplomacy with the German Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs, Annalena Baerbock on a visit to Latvia. 

During her visit, Baerbock is to meet with the Prime Minister of Latvia, Krišjānis Kariņš, and the Director of the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence, Jānis Sārts.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will host a press conference of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, and the German Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs.

Later in the afternoon, a joint press conference of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of all three Baltic States plus Germany will take place, with the response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine certain to be the focus of journalists' questions.

Both press conferences will be live streamed online on the Foreign Ministry’s website and its Twitter, Facebook and YouTube accounts.

Annalena Baerbock has been Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs since 8 December 2021.
