The Prime Ministers of Latvia and Estonia, plus the President of Lithuania met with German Chancellor Olof Scholz in Brussels February 17 ahead of a meeting of the EU Council (EUCO) dedicated principally to the subject of the EU's relations with African countries.

Earlier this week Scholz had travelled to both Kyiv and Moscow.

At the EUCO meeting itself Kariņš gave a few comments on the doorstep, stressing the need for unity among allies and support for Ukraine. You can watch that video above.

During the visit, the Prime Minister is scheduled to meet with the newly elected President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola on Friday, February 18, as well as conducting several more media interviews.

Busy diplomatic efforts by Latvia continue with President Egils Levits attending the Munich Security Conference, where he will have various meetings including with U.S. Vice-President Kamala Harris alongside other Baltic leaders. Defense Minister Artis Pabriks and Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs are also going to the Munich Security Conference and will also participate in the meeting as part of the Latvian delegation.
