Bunch of royals in Rīga this week

A bunch of royal representatives will be making their way to Latvia this week.

First up on April 23 are Norway's crown prince Haakon and crown princess Mette-Marit who will meet with President Raimonds Vējonis and his wife, as well as other Latvian officials.

On a two-day visit they will also participate in a Norwegian-Latvian Business Forum, visit the National Library of Latvia to exchange state gifts and meet school pupils. They will round it all off with a banquet, as royals are wont to do.

Then on April 27 it's the turn of Swedish crown princess Viktoria and husband prince Daniel.

There will be some disruption to roads and public transport as a result of the visits and Riga City Council is asking people to fly their flags from buildings while the royals are in town, even if they are not expecting them to drop in for a cup of tea. All municipal buildings have been ordered to do likewise.
