Embassy of Latvia in Minsk discontinues consular functions

In connection with the expulsion of diplomats from the Embassy of Latvia in Belarus, the consular services offered by the embassy have been discontinued for an indefinite period,  the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said May 25.

Latvian nationals who find themselves in an emergency situation in Belarus and require consular assistance can contact an embassy of any EU Member State in Minsk or the Consulate of Latvia in Vitebsk, or the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at +371 26337711.

Concerning the possibilities for receiving consular services (passports/ID, statements etc.) Latvian nationals are asked to contact any diplomatic or consular mission of Latvia, for instance, the Consulate in Vitebsk, the Embassy in Ukraine, the Embassy in Poland, etc.
