It will be the first visit by the French president to Latvia in a bilateral format since President Jacques Chirac's official visit in 2001.
News agency BNS reported that Macron would also visit Lithuania at the end of September.
France has sent several hundred troops this summer to the German-led NATO international battalion deployed in Lithuania. France participated in the NATO Baltic States airspace patrol mission, while Lithuania is sending its troops to Mali at the request of France.
French President Emanuel Macron met with presidents of all three Baltic states two years ago in Paris, marking the hundredth anniversary of the Baltic. At the time, Macron told the Baltic leaders: "This choice of Europe you made is all the more important in a very troubled and uncertain international context. This situation compels us to pursue the close cooperation between our countries."
