Corruption watchdog asks public to report election-related offenses

Take note – story published 1 year ago

The public actively reports alleged offenses in the elections to the Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau (KNAB), Karīna Poļanska, KNAB's representative, told Latvian Radio on October 1. Residents are asked to continue doing so.

The KNAB has received more than 350 applications for alleged violations since the beginning of the pre-election campaign.

"The easiest thing is to report offenses to the KNAB's mobile application, called “Ziņo KNAB”. It can be recorded anonymously either by a photo or by a text describing an infringement.

"Of course, you can call the hotline - 80002070 or just email to “[email protected]”. The municipal or state police may also be called. They will come, record the situation and hand over the information to the institution concerned," Poļanska said.
