Court chairman’s assistant Madara Dumpe explained that Aijo has been accused of publically exhorting the overthrow of the state government, urging that Latvia be subsumed into another state’s territory and compromise its own territorial integrity.
The case against Aijo has been suspended until the accused is again apprehended and brought back before the court.
Dumpe said if Aijo cannot be located in Latvia, the court may ask that an international-level manhunt be launched.
The last news from Aijo came last week on the Internet, where he taunted Latvian officials, claiming to be in Ukraine fighting for the Lugansk separatist ‘people’s republic’.
