"Without dreams, there are no ideals. And without ideals, there are no goals. My dream is professional teachers in Latvian schools and staff in higher education, with high education quality and creative approach to the learning process.
"It is also independence and excellence, the ability to listen, the ability to talk and be heard. It is mutual respect and cooperation between teachers and pupils, between teaching staff of different generations. It is my ideal and purpose that I encourage for anyone who cares about the quality and accessibility of education in Latvia," the President of Latvia said.
According to him, Knowledge Day is a good incentive for all everyone, regardless of age and the number of diplomas already obtained.
“It is not only for pupils and students to learn, but for all of us, every day our school of work and life requires new knowledge and skills. Because only so can we create new ideas and values for our country's growth,” noted Rinkēvičs.
He particularly thanked everyone who calls the school and the university their own, both those who learn and those who teach.
“Your enthusiasm and experience are fundamental to ensuring that Latvia's future is in safe hands, because our future is smart, educated, and creative young people. I wish you the strength to teach and above all to learn and improve yourselves!” said Rinkēvičs.
