Rīga Castle opens for public

Latvia's presidential institution marks its 101st anniversary on Tuesday, November 14. Upon taking office, President Edgars Rinkēvičs made better access of the President's institution to Latvian society one of his priorities. At the initiative of Rinkēvičs, the official residence of the President – Rīga Palace – will be open for excursions.

Interested parties can log on to the www.president.lv website and schedule a visit. Currently, a visit to Rīga Castle can be applied for on certain dates in November, December, and January 2024.

Group visits to Rīga Castle should be booked by e-mail to [email protected].

In addition, the Digital Library of the Latvian National Library has been supplemented with new documents from the State Presidential Institution Foundation. A total of 375 historical documents have already been digitized. These include the resumption of work and the budget of the institution of staff of the Secretariat of the President of the 20th century interwar state, journals of orders of the President, lists of persons awarded with Orders and honorary signs, and summaries of the announced laws and pardon cases.
