The awards are given to people whose honest professional and selfless public work, active civic attitude, courage and patriotism strengthen Latvia and are worthy of the highest recognition and honour of the State.
The Chapter of Orders notes that the highest recognition of the State is given to representatives of various professions from different regions of Latvia, whose achievements for the benefit of our country and its people we can be truly proud of.

The ceremony of awarding the highest state decorations - the Order of the Three Stars, the Order of Viesturs and the Cross of Recognition - is planned for the 106th anniversary of the proclamation of Independence of the Republic of Latvia, on November 18 2024, at 15.30 at the Riga Castle. The ceremony will be broadcast live on Latvian Television Channel 1.
