"The purpose of the photo contest was to raise awareness among young people about the importance of our country's defense and security," according to a Saeima press release.
The authors of the 10 winning photographs in the competition are Edgars Ancītis, Amanda Anusāne, Patrīcija Bērziņa, Dāvis Birzgalis, Sandra Kirilova, Laura Māliņa (two works), Emīlija Skrupska, Līga Soma, and Marta Sanija Zepa.
The ten best works will be exhibited in a traveling exhibition, the opening of which is scheduled for November 14 at the Saeima building and the work of the first place winner will feature on National Guard promotional materials.
The parliament invited 15 to 25-year-olds to participate in the photo contest which was judged by the jury pictured above.
